...hit the road...pack light, travel light...catch the sun...off the beaten track...
My wife and I have been fortunate to travel to several exotic places. My senses are packed with memories--the wine country of Napa and Sonoma Valleys; the food, music and cacophony of the French Quarter; a mixture of floral fragrances and the multi-lingual chatter alongside the tree-lined "La Rambla" of Barcelona. Fresh on my mind also are the dazzling pink beaches of Bermuda, and the powerful spiritual impact of the slow, winding drive up to Jerusalem at sunset, as if I'd finally made it home.
After retiring, our travels have been less frequent, so I find myself with a yen to return to specific locales or maybe some new ones. I can close my eyes and only imagine where my senses are calling me--the visual wonders of the American National Parks, the culinary and sparkling delights of the Florida Keys, mouth-watering tapas in Spain's Palma de Mallorca, and the crashing waves along the cliffs of the southern Italian coastal countryside.
