“If you want to know the morals of a nation, the quality of its music will furnish the answer.”—Old Chinese Philosopher
Sometime ago I mentioned a book written by psychologist Jonah Paquette which argues that we all need to seek out feeling “awestruck” through nature, photography, art, or relationships.
He stated that we should tune in deeply to our own awareness of color, texture, scent, and sound. Doing so can provide experiences that give us a sense of awe which makes us more willing to help those in need and increases our connection to others.
One way that I can incorporate a sense of awe into everyday life is to listen to music. Music
elevates my soul, gives wings to my mind and flight to my imagination.
“Music is a language that speaks to the heart, mind and soul in ways words will never touch.” (click on photo to be touched by my favorite concerto by Bach. BE SURE TO SKIP OVER THE ADS BEFORE LISTENING TO THE MUSIC.)
