As the World Turns or....

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego ... or Diego Montemayor?

Recently, someone that read a previous blog asked if the setting for The Unraveling was entirely on a ranch in Three Rivers, Texas. You may recall that Marty & I spent quite a bit of time at a ranch in Three Rivers prior to moving to San Antonio. We were totally immersed in life on a ranch--so much so, that our Yorkie Abbey became a great little herder and bbf with the cows and calves. She still responds to the mooing of cows.

So the answer to the reader's question - no, but it did become a minor setting that helped link a few character and plot developments in the book. With a visit to Three Rivers, Max learns of Diego's heritage. How is Diego connected to...? So as not to spoil it for you, I don't want to give away any more than that. The book's primary setting is in the Midwest with spurs reaching as far as Mazatlan (western coastal Mexico) and Corsica (in southern France) and of course, Three Rivers. Minor settings as they may be, they all play significant roles in the plot development.
